Below are some organic ways you can keep pests away from your garden.
Neem Oil – This can be diluted in water and sprayed on plants infested with aphids. It can also repel cabbage worms, beetles, and caterpillars. It can also help with the spread of many types of fungus. Please keep in mind that Neem oil may also repel beneficial insects as well.
Lady bugs – Lady bugs are often used in greenhouses to control aphids and thrips.
Soap and Water – You can dilute a few table spoons of dishsoap and put it in a bucket of lukewarm water. You can use a sponge or a spray bottle.
Essential Oils – Use 4 to 5 drops of thyme, peppermint, close and rosemary oil. Put mixture into a spray bottle full of water.
Attract Birds – By putting out a small feeder with seeds such as nut hearts or black oil sunflower seeds.
Garlic and Chives – Plant them near lettuce and peas to repel Aphids.
Nasturtium – Plant this to keep Aphids away from your Broccoli.
