Immune Booster When Baby Chicks Arrive

If you ever order baby chicks for your homestead, here is something you can make to boost their immune system.  Several homesteaders call this “Magic Water”.  It can be prepared the night before they arrive.  It is usually used the first two days or until the gallon is gone.

  • 1 Gallon of Warm Water
  • 1/2 Cup of Honey (Preferably Raw)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (Preferably Raw & Organic such as Bragg seen in the image on the right)
  • 2 Cloves of Crushed Garlic (Preferably Organic)

  1. Yes!!! Last spring when I got my first batch of Rhode island reds, one of them was looking pretty sorry….we figured she wouldn’t make it. Then I read about the apple cider vinegar in a chicken book we had….so I tried it and I swear this was the reason the little one turned around and they all survived. I will use this regardless with every batch we get from here on out. I never heard of the honey addition but I like it! 🤗
